Many times we forget the Windows admin password and end up re-installing the OS again. Offline NT Password is a utility to (re)set the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your Windows NT/2k/XP/Vista system. This utility works on the principle that Windows stores its user information, including encrypted passwords, in a file usually found in \system32\config.
Important Note: Resetting a user’s or administrator’s password on some systems might cause data loss, especially EFS-encrypted files.
Feature of this Utility;
- Reset password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your Windows NT/2k/XP/Vista.
- No need to know the old password to set a new one.
- It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your computer and boot off a floppy disk or CD.
- Will detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts.
You can read the complete FAQ on resetting password using this utility.
