Hot Water Fixes Discs
The claim: You can boil a CD to take care of scratches.
The reality: This sounds crazy, but it does work if done right. First, boil the water. Then quickly dip the CD in and out of the hot water. The theory is the heat will melt the plastic and even out scratches. We've had it work once or twice, but it's easy to ruin a disc if you're not careful.
