Overclock Your Computer Using Oil
The claim: You can overclock your PC by dipping it in oil.
The reality: Placing a PC's motherboard in a container with mineral oil will cool the entire PC. (Obviously, things with moving parts, like a hard drive, should not be placed in the oil.) The oil itself will cool the components, and you'll have to tweak your BIOS to get a speed boost. Is it more effective than liquid cooling? Not particularly. Oil cooling is one of those "because we can" kind of ideas.
